NIGHTS

- THE STORY -
01. NIGHTS, PART I : DUSK
8 p.m.
A sunset over the city. Purple lights over the buildings. And preparing for the night...
02. RISING UP
9 p.m.
A bar with live music. Friends. Musicians grooving. A lot of alcoohol. And a lot of laugh.
03. ECSTATIC
11 p.m.
In a club. Everyone dancing. Sweating.
Magnetised by someone. An encounter with no tomorrow.
04. VERTIGO
11 p.m.
Outside. On a rooftop. Some people having fun in a swimming pool. Other ones smoking.
A beautiful view on the streets. The thrill of the heights. Living the night to its fullest.
05. HEARTBEAT
12 a.m.
In an almost empty club. Everything blurry. Alcoohol mixed with fatigue. A daze.
Feeling the music differently. Vibrating through the body.
06. NIGHTS, PART II : MIDNIGHT
12 a.m.
Outside, in an empty street. Feeling the soft coldness of the night.
Appeased by the silence.
07. NIGHT TRAIN / SLIGHT RAIN
2 a.m.
In a night train. Head against the window. A slight rain delicately falls.
Thinking about the future.
08. SEADIDE, 4 A.M.
4 a.m.
Two drunken friends walking by the beach. Stargazing. Philosophing.
Simply enjoying the moment.
09. MIZUKI 美月
5 a.m.
A memory of a calm moonlight in Japan.
Petals of sakura falling, and a fresh wind. Exalting my senses.
10. OVER THE CITY
6 a.m.
Up on a hill overlooking the city. The sun slowly dissipates the night.
Feeling complete. Dreaming to be the king.
11. NIGHTS, PART III : DAWN
6 a.m.
Still up on the hill overlooking the city. The sun rises again.
The night goes to sleep. You fall asleep too, thinking about all that you've been through.
- THE MUSIC -
About the style and the influences :
The core of "Nights" is electronic music. In the first upbeat part of the album, it is fused with dance, pop, and tropical house, as well as neo-soul, and even disco/funk. The second part of the album slows down, incorporating elements of lo-fi, synthwave, and ambient.
